Rock River Jazz Band Concert

Rock River Jazz Band, Inc. is a 501c3 charitable organization whose mission is to see that the great music from the 1940s, including Swing, and Jazz,continues and to continue the tradition of a full Big Band. We provide free concerts in pleasing outdoor settings that are family friendly. Our set up is generally 5 saxes, 3-4 trombones, 4-5 trumpets, and a 3 piece rhythm section consisting of bass, keys and drum set. We provide an outlet for musicians that want to continue playing big band and jazz music from high schools, universities and various communities. We often have sub players who are currently in music programs sit in with us to supplement their experiences, giving them the opportunity to rehearse and perform with experienced musicians. We have musicians who have been performing on their instruments for over 60 years and as little as 7 years. We cannot put on these concerts without sponsors and donations. We were able to schedule 7 concerts this year between Dixon, Il. Page Park bandshell and Rock Falls, Il. RB&W Park Stage. We are in the process of checking pricing for an improved sound system so we can adequately mic our band and have a system that provides a proper set up for vocalists. Our current system cannot handle more than 3 mics or a monitor system. ED I DO NOT appreciate you filming me while I look for items to shop that the farmers market in Dixon. You only film me when I was walking in at 6:41 I will like you to remove the video out of respect. Treat it like you shop at a big retail store. Thank you!

I have covered news and information for decades now retired.

Never had Complaints about my coverage or Filming.

Infact I did for over a decade a Local Community Weekly on Cable and online for another area.

Always received positive feedback Funding Sources where from the Local Goverment , Businesses and othe local community members.

I live here in Dixon IL and in retirement wanted to showcase the Community in a positive way.

The funds for this site and the Cost of my own equipment is out of my pocket. Ed Pilar funds this entire site and project.

With that, I will film select events where I am welcomed at and where people do not object to my coverage.

I been filming around Dixon for years. Recently people and been complaining about my filming.

I even been contacted by the Petunia Festival telling me that I am not Welcomed and do not film the event.

At other events when I ask for information they respond to me in a rude sarcastic way. Then I want to just leave.

I decided not to waiste my time with haters. I have informed these events. That I will not be there because I am not welcomed.

There are many great people in Dixon, IL

Sometimes I just meet the negative.

I wanted to share this with My Viewers. Because it is fair for you to know.

So when you see me in public and you ask why I do not film certain venues or places. This explains the why.

Another Paranoid Person from Dixon, IL

Most people in Dixon, IL are kind, wonderfull, supportive and encourage the Positive and enjoy seeing features, films and shorts.

Others are just plain mean emails and social media post from faceless people. That happens to everyone I know who works in the media and post online.

Plus the rude people who run certain events. They put up with me. However when I ask them for more information or an on camera chat. They say no and are rude. Then ignore me like I am an intruder. Despite that I still stay and think the viewer would enjoy the coverage. The Venue gets FREE coverage and promotion. So What's the deal with treating me like trash. Because of those venues I think about NOT filming anything in Dixon, IL. Then I take down all my Dixon Coverage from all my posting sites. Because I think all these venues are connected. I know that is not the case. Some venues encourage me and thanks me for filming. SO this DixonChannel.com is only a few months old. Let's see where it goes.
